Some of the organization\'s purposes are to promote actively the interests of teachers of family and consumer science, encourage higher standards of teaching by family and consumer sciences educators, promote harmony and solidarity of group action within the membership, expand and improve public knowledge and understanding of the advantages of family and consumer sciences education and career and technology education.

The Centre for Human Ecology is part of a worldwide movement for ecological sustainability and social justice. We are radical, practical and academic – we work with individuals and organisations to develop and support the passions, insights and skills that are essential for effective, enduring social and ecological change. Offers a postgraduate education in Human Ecology for activists, professionals and others who wish to be more effective agents of social and ecological change.
